Good design is often evident in the details that aren’t immediately obvious. A projection solution that disappears completely into the ceiling and only becomes visible when needed opens up new possibilities for interior design—functional, minimalist, and with a clear focus on the image.

With the TensioLine Motor series of ceiling-mounted screens, reflecta has developed a solution that strikes a balance between technical precision and architectural restraint. Designed for flush mounting, both the mounting frame and the wedge-shaped counterweight bar align seamlessly with the ceiling, creating a calm, nearly invisible overall appearance when retracted. The focus thus shifts consistently from the product to the room—and in the next moment to the projection itself.

The matte-white projection fabric with a black backing is based on a three-layer fabric core and has a material thickness of 0.4 mm with a weight of 360 g/m². This structure ensures an even, diffuse Type D reflection and supports natural image reproduction with a gain of 1.0. Combined with a generous viewing angle of 160 degrees, the image remains homogeneous and color-stable even from side positions—a feature that proves its worth in both conference and meeting environments as well as in demanding home theater setups.

The screen’s fine surface texture is specifically designed for high-resolution content up to 4K. A surrounding black border precisely frames the image and enhances perceived contrast depth, while a 30 cm black lead at the top offers additional flexibility for integration into rooms with varying ceiling heights.

A key feature of the TensioLine Motor is the lateral tension cable system, which keeps the projection fabric permanently in shape and effectively prevents the formation of waves or so-called “dog-ears.” In combination with the wedge-shaped counterweight bar, this creates a flat, smooth projection surface that retains its stability even with regular use.

The motor operates quietly and smoothly, blending unobtrusively into the environment. The screen can be controlled either via the included remote control or through additional interfaces such as a trigger connection and an RS485 connection, which enables integration into smart home and media control systems. A side cap with an integrated control unit expands the control options and ensures a clean, uncluttered integration of the technology.

The series also demonstrates thoughtful design during installation: The screens are delivered pre-assembled, reducing installation effort to a minimum. Suspension is achieved via four threaded rods attached to the raw ceiling, allowing for stepless, millimeter-precise adjustment. Depending on the structural situation, the suspension height can be flexibly adjusted, while a minimum installation depth of 145 mm facilitates planning integration. Side cover caps neatly finish the ceiling cutout and emphasize the flush overall appearance.
